What is "SAP 2027 Issue"?
The "SAP 2027 Issue" refers to the impending termination of standard maintenance (mainstream support) for SAP ERP 6.0 (formerly ECC 6.0), an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, by the end of 2027.
This signifies the cessation of official support for the current SAP version used by many businesses, resulting in the discontinuation of security updates and support packages."
The Two Options
Therefore, users of ECC 6.0 EHP (Enhancement Package) 5 or lower, who seek support beyond 2027, face two major choices.
Choice 1: Upgrade to EHP6 or higher
Advantages:
・Extend support until 2030 while maintaining existing systems and business processes as they are.
・Compared to transitioning to a new system, costs are lower, and the duration of work is reduced.
・Secure time until 2030 to prepare for the transition to SAP S/4HANA.
Disadvantages:
・Risk of reduced competitiveness due to the inability to utilize the latest features.
・An additional 2% fee on the current maintenance base rate will be added from 2027 to 2030.
・Eventually, a transition to SAP S/4HANA is necessary, incurring additional costs.
Choice 2: Migrate to SAP S/4HANA
Advantages:
・Rapid data processing enables quick decision-making, efficient management, and enhanced operational efficiency.
・Introducing new business models and digital services can strengthen market competitiveness.
・Improved interfaces enhance usability and user experience.
Disadvantages:
・Transitioning to a new system may necessitate a review of operational processes and organizational culture.
・Compared to an upgrade, costs are higher and a long-term migration plan is required.

Migration Assessment to S/4HANA
In response to the Year 2027 issue, we are conducting a rapid ECC to S/4HANA migration assessment. In particular, migration to S/4HANA is significantly different from traditional upgrades, with numerous functional changes and complex data transformations. Therefore, we first perform an assessment (PoC) to confirm the scope of impact and cost.
SAP ERP Upgrade / Migration
Based on the assessment results, we will upgrade to S/4HANA, including SAP SPS, FPS, and enhancement package version upgrades. Current business workflows, operations, add-ons, and data are fundamentally carried over, but in cases where operational functions are affected, we will clearly define the scope of impact and collaboratively resolve issues with our clients.
Hardware Replacement
We also support upgrading SAP hardware and operating systems that are reaching the end of their maintenance support period to the latest environments, as well as transitioning from on-premises to cloud environments. If necessary, we will implement SAP support package applications to provide a new environment that remains eligible for SAP maintenance support.
